Allison Birkmeyer is a Servant Leader, Non-Profit Founder, Blood Clot Survivor, Motivational Speaker, Health & Fitness Advocate and Creative Adventurer.

Her health and fitness journey started in 2014.  Four years of weekly air travel, eating on the road and working long hours had caused major burn out.  She knew it was time to make a change.  Shortly after, a childhood friend asked if she wanted to run a marathon.  Initially she thought this was crazy, however she realized this opportunity may never present itself again.  So, she decided to go for it.

Over the next year, Allison completed three marathons and nine half marathons while maintaining a weekly travel schedule for work.  She quickly discovered there is no better feeling than setting a goal, pushing yourself to the limits, overcoming the challenges while celebrating the small wins and persevering across the finish line.

During this time, Allison had no idea healthy eating, marathon training and indoor cycling would save her life from life-threatening blood clots in May 2018.  The months following this traumatic experience came with many emotional and mental challenges.  Allison consciously made the decision to not let this experience control her life.   This pivotal moment sparked a new calling to create her non-profit, The Quiet Clot® Its mission is to increase blood clot awareness, prevention, educate on recover and offer support for all people suffering with this dangerous condition.

Allison aims to empower others daily.  She achieves this as an Executive Leader for a Fortune 500 company and the Charlotte Ambassador for The KNOW Women, a diverse collection of highly successful women who aim to connect, collaborate and support one another.  Originally from Oregon, Allison is proud to call the Queen City home after relocating from Philadelphia in 2014.   She is excited and honored to celebrate some of Charlotte’s amazing female leaders through the KNOW Women community.

As a self-proclaimed Creative Adventurer, Allison has fond memories of riding motorcycles with her Dad as early as six years old.  Her curiosity and zest for exploration continues to thrive through her personal and professional travel.  Health and fitness remain a priority for Allison.  She enjoys art, interior design and most importantly spoiling her nieces and nephew.
